Summer 2006

This is the second scrapbook page I created yesterday for my album on my beautiful daughter. We'd been walking on a very warm day at Sutton Bank in North Yorkshire - there are amazing views. This picture was taken during a rest break!

I made this flower arrangement for the page using some of the flowers from crafty emmas store. The pins I threaded with contrasting beads and the metal centers are some eyelets which I have had for ages. I wanted the flowers to be subtle to contrast well with the backing paper. I found it quite hard to do this scrap page as I have only been card making for a while and struggled to not make embellishments too dimensional.   

The backing paper is from an old craft magazine and it complemented the heather in the picture so well. Kathryn is always smiling - hence the the stamp I used in the top left corner. I added some ribbon and gorgeous lace and also 2 lovely metal embellishments. I stamped the place and date with a very old alphabet set I have, on a tag also from the magazine. Can you spot the bird on the backing paper - still struggling with the photography .Lastley I added some lovely pearl embellishment down the side of the paper.
