Only The Beginning

Good afternoon all. I had a card to make for a friend at work who is getting married in 3 weeks in beautiful Italy. They are childhood sweethearts who remet again a year ago and are a very special couple. Her surname is Cake so this image seemed very appropriate

The decoupage I have had for a while - not sure who by - sorry. I spent a while cutting it out and layering it up and i'm really pleased with the result. I added some clear stickles to the flowers for a bit of sparkle.

I used a square card blank and cut a script piece of cream card by Kaban which I then distressed the edges and coloured with a VersaMagic chalk ink - Pixie Dust. I used a pale piece of pink patterned paper from my scraps and tore the edges and again chalked them. I also distressed the edges of the decoupage. I used two dies - a Tim Holtz flourish and a Spellbinders for the sentiment. I embossed the flourish with a pink heat it up embossing powder. The sentiment is a rub-on from Karen Foster "Only the Beginning". The wonderful pale pink roses were from the HobbyHouse and I have been dieing to use them. They are backed with the finest pale pink lace/net, some of which I used across the top edge of the decoupage although its hard to see on the picture.

This is the inside of the card - what a beautiful sentiment from a stamp by Great Impressions. I used a contrasting pale pink script card again by Kaban.
