Christmas pillow box

Hi, another week nearly over and time for a new challenge over at http://christmasstampin.blogspot.co.uk/. This week our challenge is "Anything but a Card" - Christmas themed of cause!

I love making gift boxes so this was an easy one to design for. I made this pillow box from a sheet of 12x12 paper from my stash. It wasn't specifically a Christmas paper but think it changed beautifully. I decided to use up some peel offs  I've had for years. I stuck them onto acetate and then cut round them to make the silver snowflakes and did the same for the little robin.
I stamped the Christmas sentiment and tied various contrasting ribbons around the box added the acetate snowflakes with lilac roses at their centres. I finished the box by adding some purple stickles to the spots on the card the box is made from to add a bit of Christmas bling. I had some spare card so I went on to make a matching gift tag. I again made the silver flower using peel offs and acetate. Please pop over to CSAYL and see all the other creations the design team have made. xx

Christmas Hedgehogs

Hi just a quick post with a card that fits Crafty Hazelnuts challenge this week. love this stamp - the hedgehogs just make me smile.
This is an old stamp from Penny Black -  their stamps are always a favourite. I coloured the image with copics and used glamour dust on the snow. Thought I'd keep this simple so I've used various blue papers and card from my stash, added the sentiment and then the snowflake die is from memory box dies. I finished with a selection of blue sticky gems. Think this card will be lovely for a couple this Christmas.x

Good Morning - its time for another challenge over at http://christmasstampin.blogspot.co.uk/. This week its to make your Christmas card/project using non-tradtional colours.
Now I did just type -NON TRADITIONAL but being me I didn't quite read the Dt guidelines correctly so mine has a little too much red and green - whoops! Sure you can do better than me, so pop over and join us - its never too early to make Christmas Cards.
This cute digi is from Meljens designs who have sponsered CSAYL this week. I coloured it using copics, used a couple of different dies and added a sentiment. Around the edge I did some faux stitching - a first for me xx

Can I Play For You?

Here's a Christmas card I made for the Holly Jolly sketch challenge; he also reminds me of the christmas carol 'Little Drummer Boy'. I've left my laptop at work so am posting this from my daughters laptop; so I can't tell you where the digi is from but isn't he cute.

I coloured him with copics markers, cut him into a rectangle, rounded the corners and edged him with green ink. I them backed him with red paper.
I followed the challenge which is a sketch over at Jolly Holly blog this week. Hope you like it and are all enjoying this lovely sunny weather we are having. Only a short post as heading off for a night shift in 10 mins. So sleep well and everyone -I'll think of you during the night lol.xxx

Tis the Season...

Wow - my third post today. Had to make a card when I saw the challenge over at Winter Wonderland is a winter sport.
This cute little fellow is a wooden stamp from Penny Black called - Exhilarating. I have had him coloured for ages - well before I discovered copics or thinking about what type of card to stamp on. He's coloured with whisper stroke pens and I think he looks great although different to what I'm doing now. The sentiment stamp is from a clear stamp set - Simply Adornit - Carolee's Creations. All the backing papers are from my stash and the snowflakes are made using a spellbinders die.

Christmas Gift Card

Hi - its time for another challenge over at http://christmasstampin.blogspot.co.uk/. This week the challenge is to make your own patterned paper. I am so enjoying being part of their Design team. The prize this week is 2 templates of your choice from AR by Adela.
I decided to go for a silhouette stamped background paper.

To make this I dug out one of the oldest set of stamps I have - "Santa's Coming To Town" made by See-D's. These should get more use as they stamped really well.
I chose a template called Gift and Card Combo and found it very straight forward to work with.
Again I used another of the stamps from the See-D's and what a jolly Santa he is. I coloured him with copics and then used glamour dust for the hat and his beard. The sentiment is again from the same set - so glad I found it again. This is the front of the gift/ card finished with some red gems.

This is the finished design and I'm very pleased with it - there will definitely be more made with gifts for Christmas in them.

Double Trouble

Back with my second entry for House Mouse!
This is from a decoupage set and aren't the bears so cute. Its my Nephews birthday soon so hoping he will like this. It's a really simple design but the decoupage needed little to show it off. I added some micro beads, a red metal corner, 2 contrasting buttons and a sentiment attached with a brad. The decoupage is may layers - don't do a lot of decoupage nowadays but loving the finished effect.

Piggin Birthday !

Good afternoon - back with a second post today.  Been on a roll today - can't show everything today but can reveal soon. Just got time to enter this before I have a trip to the dentist - root canal filling - yikes!
This cute pig is from Bugaboo digis - my friend Helen will be pleased as she loves their digis!!! I coloured it using copics and the die is from x-cut - nesting dies. The edges are distressed using 3 different shades of versaMagic chalk inks.
My main backing paper is from a Forever Friends 6x6 pack - For You. The Happy Birthday sentiment and the balloons are stamped from a clear stamp set by inspirations - the art of craft I think I got these stamps from Tesco's along time ago - loving blogging - it sure gets you to raid your stash and use old things xx I made this with the challenge over at http://drsdesignsblog.blogspot.co.uk in mind - their challenge is balloons this week.

He Loves Me !

Good morning - at last a House mouse challenge I can enter - so happy. I love these mice but have very few stamps so I've been waiting for a challenge that this stamp would fit the bill .
This stamp is from a set titled - Love/ snuggle up. I used copics to colour it - my collection is increasing but still need more to help my shading.
This colour combo of pinks and blues is definitely one of my favourites. The backing papers are from My Paper Stash - Quintessential Country Garden - a pack I got from the Doncaster show. The large flowers are also from the same House Mouse set and the lace and flower beading and pale blue flowers are from the Hobby House at Tetney. I love how this card came together - now to decide who to send it to!

Beach Days

Hi - don't know about anyone else but I'm on a post Olympics downer. I am so proud to be British - what an amazing fortnight - roll on the Paralympics x
With all this lovely sunshine  thought this so cute digi from Dearie Dolls Digi Stamps was great to match the weather.
The digis here are all free - wow  - take a look, there are lots of amazing ones.
I used my copics to colour this cute snorkelling girl and used a spellbinders circle die to showcase her on. I distressed the edges with VesaMagic chalk inks.
The papers used are from two 6x6 paper packs - Serif -Picnic in the Park and Dovecraft - Sugar and Spice. I cut more circles with the smaller dies and a birthday sentiment . Around the main image I used colour matching card candi and pleated a small piece of yellow ribbon. This is the front of an easel card.

The sentiment is another digi from Nana Vics summer sentiments. The flip-flops are dome stickers by Papermania - must have had these for a couple of years at least.

Black & White Christmas

Hi - its time for another challenge this week over at http://christmasstampin.blogspot.co.uk/. I am on their Dt team and having a great time. This week our challenge is "Anything Goes" - Christmas related of course. Please go and look and join in with us for this weeks challenge.
This is one of my favourite stamps and so decided to try and use it for a Christmas card.
The stamp is a wooden etched one from - Coronado Island Stamps called "True Love" . I stamped it using a versafine black ink and then matted and layered it with black and silver card.
The snowflake is made using a spellbinders creatability die - one of my favourite dies I use over and over. I added some clear stickles to the black layers to give it some bling.   I added a Merry Christmas banner in silver and then tied 2 different ribbons in  black and white down the right. The gorgeous snowflake backing is from Grimsby Crafts. I finished the card off with a couple of silver gems.

Mole Surprise

Hi made this card with the challenge over at Charisma Cards in mind - Animals and flowers.
This is such a cute digi from Sliekjestamps - all her digis are free - what a kind thing to do xx
I have had this coloured for a while now  - I used my copics and I think he looks great showcased on a spellbinders scalloped rectangle die.
I decided to make an easel card but I do find them hard to photograph, so please excuse the angle! I used up scraps from my stash for all the backing papers. The bow is made from some gorgeous ribbon I bought from the show at Doncaster racecourse and I added various flowers in contrasting colours and a bumble bee and dragonfly brads.

Crazy Mistake !!!!!!

Hi, well after spending my afternoon making this card for My cousins new baby - Heidi and showing it to family who have been round for a barbecue I have just found time to put it on my blog and oh dear what a mistake I've made lol. Well nobody else noticed or were just too polite to say!!! I think I'll leave it up to you at first to spot and then I might confess at the end of this post.x

This lovely digi image is called Cresent Moon Ants and at the moment is free to download from Doodle Pantry Challenge Blog  until August 15th. So thanks to them for this - it's just so sweet.
I used a spellbinders die to showcase the image on and then coloured it with copics and distressed the edges with VersaMagic inks.

I used papers from my stash - pinks lemons and oranges and a border and embossing punch which I am unsure who makes it as it just says "Make Me" on it! The sentiment is stamped using my Just Rite stamps and I added some small yellow sequin flowers to which I added a small pink sticky gem. I added  pink heart button and tied a small piece of twine. Hope you can see the lovely tiny feet charm - so sweet. To finish I added some contrasting ribbon again from my stash.
So I'm sure you've all spotted by now my happy accident - lol. Don't you think that ant is so cute clinging on to the moon horizontally! and the star and its string floating horizontally. All I can say is - as there's no gravity in space maybe that's how this image is supposed to look !!!!!!!
Anyway hope its made you smile - I'm sure Heidi will love it xxx

Floating By

Good morning - here's a little card I made with the challenge over at Doodle Pantry in mind. They currently have 2 challenges running so i'm hoping to make another card later on this week to enter the other.
The digi is one of theirs called Balloon ants.

This digi fitted a tall slim card I felt, but I did struggle to embellish it at first as their didn't seem much room. The digi is coloured with my copics and then mounted with a dark brown card and paper from my stash. The sentiment is also from Doodle pantry. The string of pearls are from The Hobby House. I added 2 bumble bees - one a brad and one a button and some flowers from my stash with card candy centres.
Overall I think this has turned out better than I originally thought so I'm quite pleased xx

Christmas Pooch

Hi - still enthralled with the Olympics, think i'll be exhausted when its finished. I just don't know which channel to have on, everyone is just doing so well.
Whilst hopping around blogland  I saw the challenge at DRS Design Rubber Stamping was "Show us Your Dogs". Well I knew I had a set of stamps that I have yet to use so I've dug them out and here's what I've come up with.
The stamp is from a set by Personal expressions - "It's a Dogs Christmas". The Merry Christmas scarf sentiment is from another set os stamps by Woodware -"Polar Bear". I've used copics to colour the so adorable dog and a spellbinders scalloped edge die to showcase him in. I added some glamour dust to his Santa hat. Papers and card are from my stash and I've used 3 different ribbons. Hope you can see the small dog button in the centre of the flower. To finish I've added a holly brad.

London 2012

Hi just had to join in with all all the Olympic challenges around and show my support for the wonderful Team GB. What a wonderful Olympic games we are having - I'm so proud to be British and hope all the rest of you around the world are enjoying London 2012. Here is my card I made to celebrate the Games.

These so cute mice are from Penny Black clear stamps - Love London. Sorry the photography is a little dark on the mouse carrying the Olympic torch but oh so cute. I coloured the images using copics and matted and layered using red card and a blue paper.

I cut the Team GB using a Tim Holtz Alterations die - Carnivale. and then coated the letters with glossy accents. The flower centres are a Union Jack button. I used my HotFix  heat gem setter to add the red, white and blue gems  to the top and bottom of the stamped image. Finally I added the red, white and blue ribbons through punched holes at the edge of the card.
All the papers used are from a 6x6 paper pad - Forever Friends - Best of British. I decorated the inside of my card and added the little Olympic Mouse torch bearer.
So just one more thing to say - "Best of luck to all the rest of Team GB for the rest of the Olympics."

I am entering this card in the following challenges and then will be posting it to support -

Xmas Penguin

Hi time for another challenge at http://christmasstampin.blogspot.co.uk/ where this week the challenge is to make your holiday project using 3 of everything - for example 3 papers 3 ribbons 3brads. This week they are sponsored by The Digi Doodle Shop who have some great digis. This really cute penguin is one of theirs.

As you can see he's so cute. I used copics to colour him. Still in need of more shades to be able to highlight better but still I'm quite pleased with how he's turned out. I used my translucent glitter on the hat.
Had fun using three of everything and used 3 papers, 3 ribbons, and 3 poinsettias which I made using my newest die from Marianne design - think this will get lots of use. The sentiment is stamped using my JustRite Stamps. Hope you can pop over to CSAYL and join in with this weeks challenge.
