For A Friend

Good afternoon. Made this card very early this morning before the Olympic coverage started. Got a weeks holiday to watch the action and I'm just loving it. Ben Ainsley just came second in the first leg of the Finn class - go Benn !!

This a beautiful Sarah Kay stamp which I painted with twinkling H2Os. I've been neglecting them lately since I've built up my copics collection but really enjoyed using them again. The papers and sentiment are from an old issue of Creative Card Making. The flowers I've made using using a Tim Holtz die - Tattered Flower Garland and I've added contrasting brads as the flower centres. I added 3 different ribbons and lace under the image. Lastly I've added a pretty blue acetate butterfly and a pink gem in the image corner xx

Santa's Little Helper

Hi its time for another challenge over at Christmas Stamping All Year Long. The challenge this week is to make a holiday project using this photo as inspiration.

What a lovely festive scene. Please pop over and join in - its always good to get ahead with your Christmas cards.
They are sponsored this week by Meljen's Designs who have some great digis.
I chose this one called "Santas Little Helper" - what a cute Elf.
The image is coloured using copics and the papers and card are from my stash. I don't know whether the bow shows up very well but recently I purchased all different colours of this mesh  and think it makes a lovely change from ribbon. The sentiment is one of my new Lili of the Valley sentiment stamps - really pleased with them. I added some contrasting flowers and finished them centres with a selection of brads and lastly added a lovely Christmas Tree button.

A Cure Must Be Found

Hi - Here's a card I made to once again promote breast cancer awareness. The Link Up for Pink blog is great, so please take time to look.
The image is from McMahon Five Designs - and the sentiment from Doodle Pantry Digis. Both these sites have some wonderful Breast Cancer images - some of which are free for download.
I coloured the image using copics and the design is following the sketch on the Link Up for Pink Challenge.
I added some gorgeous pink lace and the flowers are handmade.

Catching a Snowflake

Hi this is the card I made for my DT challenge over at Christmas Stamping All Year Long -http://christmasstampin.blogspot.co.uk/.
Our challenge this week is to make your project using a sketch from one of the sketch challenges you like. The digi stamp I have chosen to showcase is from the sponsers of the challenge - Limited Run Digitals.
I coloured the image with copics and added glamour dust to the snowflakes and silver glitter to her hat. The beautiful snowflake flourish is made using a memory box die. The large snowflake is a spellbinders creatability die. All papers used are from my stash. I finished my card with some silver gems on the flourish and on the corners of the pink paper.

Holiday Memories

Good Morning - back with a scrapbook page of my lovely daughter on a sunny but cold day in the French Alps. I've started a scrapbook of her which I'm showcasing pictures of her during her teenage years. Its hard to believe she's 20 now! Where do the years go? This picture was taken when she was 17 - we try to ski most years and its one of our best holiday times together as a family xx
I have used black, white and silver as my theme for the page. I had a lovely piece of snowflake vellum which I cut various size circles using a spellbinders die. The intricate snowflake corner is a memory box die. The sentiment is stamped using one of my JustRite stamps. I added various snow related buttons and the snow balls around the sentiment I have had since my daughters early craft days (at least 14years) so its paid not throwing them away.

Giggle Fairy

Hi this card I've made is for a special little girls 7th birthday. Wanted to make it nice and girly - hers what I came up with -
The gorgeous fairy is from 'Some Odd Girl' - shes called Giggle Fairy. I coloured her using my copics in various shades of blues and oranges and used a Go Kreate die to showcase her on. I chalked the edges using a VersaMagic chalk ink and then mounted the image onto some lovely angel-hair blue paper.
Next I made some blue and orange flowers using a new die a purchased at the Summer Crafting show - I'm very pleased with them although they look nothing like the ones the demonstrator created but I'll keep trying.
Altogether I have used 4 different dies to create this card. Love the butterfly and the flourish is from Joy Crafts. I used a Martha Stewart punch to create the butterfly edge at the top of the card. The sentiment and the number 7 are mounted on circles using a spellbinders nestabilities dies - standard circles. I finished the flowers off by adding contrasting coloured beads to the centres.

Beach Bum

Hi - hope everyone's ok. I'm so looking forward to tomorrow - its the Summer Crafting Craft Show at Doncaster. On Friday I had wonderful day there crafting with Stephanie and Nancy. Made lots of different things and came home with a great goodie bag. My daughter also won the raffle so all in all a great day. Looking forward to shopping with Kathryn and Helen and Rachel tomorrow.
Anyway here's a card I was asked to make. It was for a friends brother who spends a lot of time at his holiday villa in Spain. The digi image is from  leighspapercreation called Beach Bum.

I used copics to colour the image. The backing papers are all from my stash and I just loved the sentiment on the backing paper. I used a sentiment from Nana Vics Summer Set 1 - these are great with lots of choice. I decorated a pin with beads and a small dolphin, added a Happy birthday sentiment and to finish some accent beads and a starfish brad. I am quite pleased with the results as it's a man card and I find them difficult to design.I would like to enter this in the following challenges -

Christmas Scene

Hi back with another DT card for http://christmasstampin.blogspot.co.uk/. Please visit us and join in with our challenges. This week the challenge is -Challenge: “No Inky yet” - make your holiday project using any stamp that hasn't been inked before.
This is what I came up with -
Not sure how good the photography is but hope you can see ok. This was stamped using a wooden stamp by inkadincado.  I have had this stamp for over a year but this is its first use! I wasn't sure what to do with it but I'll definitely using it again. I used a Versafine ink - Vintage Sepia. I added stickles to the snow and the tree.
This is my finished design. I used various backing papers from my Christmas stash, cut a flourish, added some mulberry trees and a lovely snowy tree button. I punched a holly border down the right.

Hi back with another Christmas card. My pile is increasing rapidly and loving making them with the satisfying feeling that I won't be hasseled at Christmas.

Christmas with Vellum

Its an exciting day for me as I have been accepted as a DT member for http://christmasstampin.blogspot.co.uk/
I am so pleased to join their team of designers and today want to show you my first card. The Challenge this week is to use Vellum on your holiday project. Here is what I came up with -
The image is a Molly Bloom stamp which I coloured promarkers. I used vellum strips which I torn using a Westcott ruler purchased many years ago from Lakeland when they used to sell lots of craft items. I also used vellum as one of the backing layers for the image. I distressed the edges using a gold versamark ink. I made a vellum snowflake using a spellbinders shapeabilities die - create a flake 1.
I inked the vellum with green and gold versamark and added the gold spotty brad. All the papers and vellum are from my stash. I finished the card with the Merry Christmas sentiment and the snowflakes on the image  which are rub-ons from Papermania -  a silent night.
Head on over to their blog -http://christmasstampin.blogspot.co.uk/ to enter this weeks challenge. Its never too early to start your Christmas cards.

Barbecue Boy

Good afternoon. Been looking through my birthday list and found I had 6 male cards and only 2 female to make in the next few weeks! How I struggle with male cards but here's the one I came up with this afternoon.
The image is a rubber stamp from www.stampingbella.com  and I coloured it using copics. I used a spellbinders die and inked the edges a contrasting blue. I then added 4 brads to the corners - twisted blue and white twine around the edge and tied it at the side. I used a Happy Birthday sentiment and in the top right corner I finished with a tomato brad I've had for ages.
